Reuters: European Super League Completely Abandoned After English Sides Withdraw |video

By The Boy -

Juventus’ chairman Andrea Agnelli has announced that the proposed European Super League now lies in tatters and that without the English contingent the project cannot proceed. Agnelli told Reuters that he remained convinced that the plan was beautiful and would have created the best competition in the world.

This certainly has blown itself out as fast as it was thrust upon us, and it only remains to be speculated just how long those fans that remain unhappy intend to try and keep this in the news.

If anyone has ever watched the American version of The Office. This is the exact episode where they fear their branch will be closed down so Michael and Dwight go and stand outside the CFO’s house (who isn’t in) in protest. Completely unrelated circumstances result in their branch staying open and another closing, when Michael and Dwight get the call to tell them this, they jump around and scream “we did it”

Whats funny is the footage of these bed wetting millennial Chelsea fans cheering triumphantly about their clubs withdrawal from the ESL like they had just won the Champions League. Fans of Chelsea, run by Roman Abramovich, taking the moral high-ground!

Ironic the chants of “we want our chelsea back”, the actual Chelsea or the one where a Russian billionaire buys your trophies?

I’m almost certain this would be true. In the same way I’m certain that if it had gone ahead UEFA and FIFA would have eventually “reluctantly” accepted the competition whilst getting paid off behind the scenes.

It’s being called a victory against greed. They’re all kidding themselves.

The British media showing this as if the fans won etc etc.

Been reading articles from other countries and Ive seen reports of how the English were enticed to abandon the ESL with financial incentives which have not been made public yet.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if this was true. Fans think they wrestled back power while the big 6 get some more money out of this.

Shambolic to say the least.
