Report – Tottenham waste no time in identifying Mourinho replacement as they contact former Premier League boss

Although they have made Ryan Mason their interim manager for the rest of the season, Spurs have wasted no time in looking for a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho.

They sacked the Special One as their manager yesterday after a poor run of form, despite backing him with players in the summer.

He now leaves another job in England, this time with no success and Spurs have moved on fast from him.

Football Italia reports that the Lilywhites have contacted the representatives of Maurizio Sarri about the vacant managerial role at their club.

The report says they have held talks with Fali Ramadani about Sarri becoming their manager next season.

Sarri has been out of work since the start of this campaign after Juventus fired him last year.

He has been linked with several jobs before now, but a return to England is now very possible.

Sari won the Serie A last season and reached the final of the Coppa Italia. He also won the Europa League with Chelsea when he managed the Blues in the 2018/2019 season.

He has won a trophy in his last two seasons as a manager and he might finally help Spurs end their wait for a trophy if they fail to win the Carabao Cup before he joins them.
