Report: Tottenham was one of several clubs scouting Benfica ace performance versus Liverpool

This summer, Tottenham Hotspur will be in the market to further improve its attack. The north London club made strides this past January when they brought in Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus FC on a loan deal; however, it doesn’t seem they’ll be stopping there.

According to the Portuguese outlet Record (via Football.London), Spurs was reportedly one of several clubs scouting Darwin Nunez’s performance during Benfica’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.

In addition, the information from the report states that the Uruguayan striker has a desire to play in European football’s elite club competition and has put Spurs in a good place for his signature, given that they’re currently sitting fourth in the Premier League.

Despite Tottenham scouting the player this week, nothing has been decided yet, considering the race for the fourth spot is far from over. When it comes to the cost, it’s believed Benfica will demand around £60 million for Nunez this summer.

Since arriving in 2020, Nunez has appeared in 79 fixtures, scoring 42 goals and registering 15 assists.
