The January window opens in a couple of weeks. As a result, the frenzy of seeing scouts of a particular club is beginning to take center stage for media outlets and social media platforms.

In the latest installment of the Derby de LisboaA Bola (via Sports Witness) reports that scouts from Tottenham took in the rivalry match at the Estadio de Luiz last Friday.

With that information, the first thing many supporters will do is look at which players Tottenham have been linked to on either squad to get a sense of which player they might have been scouting.

Over the summer, Spurs was linked to midfielder Joao Palhinha, but he missed the match, so that’s not the player they might be scouting. Another player that the north London-based club has seen their name in connection to is Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

There’s also the other option that Tottenham was scouting a player that they might have a past connection with in the past. Spurs want to improve their striker group, midfield, and add a central defender, so it could be they were scouting players at those positions.
