Report: Tottenham preparing for double swoop of Villarreal stars

Tottenham Hotspur has long expressed an interest in Pau Torres; last season, they pushed to land the Spain international. However, the 25-year-old opted for UEFA Champions League football with Villarreal, reaching the semi-finals and bowing out to Liverpool.

Spurs are now plotting to bounce on Torres with his European season over and the La Liga campaign nearing its end. Nonetheless, he isn’t the only player from The Yellow Submarine that the north London club plans to raid this summer.

According to 90min, officials from Spurs were in attendance for both legs against Liverpool to keep tabs on Torres and his Villarreal teammate Arnaut Danjuma, who is a winger on the Spanish club and would fill the need of adding another forward to the squad.

Danjuma has Premier League experience, having played for AFC Bournemouth and then departed last summer to join the La Liga side. In his first season in Spain, the Netherlands international has scored 16 goals in 34 appearances.

Meanwhile, Torres would be a solution to their backline as Spurs look for an upgrade over Ben Davies to go alongside Cristian Romero and Eric Dier.
