Report: Tottenham, Man City are the front-runners for Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović

Tottenham Hotspur wants to bring in a forward to play alongside Harry Kane and eventually be the long-term replacement for the 28-year-old. Over the summer, Spurs were linked to various strikers, but no move would occur.

However, now with Antonio Conte in charge, it seems Tottenham is ready to add a young striker, which is why Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) reports that Tottenham remains one of the two frontrunners in the race for ACF Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović.

Spurs being the frontrunners for the Serbia international is good news ahead of the January transfer window. However, the other team leading the charge for Vlahović is Manchester City.

Last week, a report from Italy suggested that manager Pep Guardiola is enamored by the 21-year-old and wants to bring him aboard. As a result, Tottenham will have their work cut out if they hope to convince Vlahović to turn down Manchester City for north London.

Vlahović has appeared in 18 matches this season for Fiorentina, scoring 17 goals and registering three assists.

So there’s no such thing as match sharpness? I think you’ll find there is…

So the you’re comparing Real Madrid and Barcelona in their pomp as needing quite the same effort from one player to dig them out of a hole? What planet are you on?

He does it for Eddie Howe, some players just can’t do so effectively, Son is an example for us.

Maximin isnt asked to track back. Ask him to do that then he becomes less effective and looses confidence to take on players incase he looses the ball. Then you will only get sideways passes

Ronaldo,Cavani, ibrahimavic ,Rivaldo ,Raul,Fat Ronaldo all carried their clubs all the time. Even though they had multiple strikers they were the ones always playing. Even if we had 3 strikers. Kane will always play before them.

He asked to be played. If he or the clubs doctors thought he wasnt fit to play they wouldn’t have played him.its not like he just came straight from healing to the match. While he was healing he was training and playing 5 vs 5 games which form part of training.

Agree with everything you say, some people love Kane more then the club. Kane in his own words said he wanted to be talked about in the same bracket as Messi and Ronaldo in the Amazon Documentry. Messi and Ronaldo both single handedly won the finals on their own. When the entire team was playing rubbish out of nowhere they did something spectacular. This is Kanes own words not mine nor anyone else’s. He could of stepped up when it matters. Hell even Bale on his own, when the entire team was playing rubbish won madrid final games.

Shearer had similar attributes to Kane and won 1 title, heavily backed by cash. Had he gone straight to New Antle and scored all those goals, would he also lack bottle in the big games? Utter nonsense – it’s a team game and Kane has carried them for years.

We were toothless and never looked like scoring, the performances under Poch in those big games that really mattered, finals etc, were desperately disappointing.

Mediocrity can come in different forms, as a team we had become mediocre from the one we were 18 months to two years before because we had become stale (zero signings for over 12 months) etc. I agree, Eriksen never turned up to the big games, so in that context a mediocre player. So there you go, Moura is mediocre more often than he is anything else. I reckon Kane was unlucky, he’s stepped up for England in big games, had scored fun in the NLD etc. Kane isn’t a bottler, Eriksen probably was a lot of the time.

One of them turned up at the same finals either. Lack of rotation due to a non-existent squad? I believe so. The teams that invest tend to win things and to blame Harry for the Italy farce is ridiculous. Southgate shut up shop after 15 minutes when we should have torn them apart.

Kane was unlucky to get injured not long before the final, we had no better options so he had to play. You need a bit of luck, but a strong squad like Liverpool’s helps. We signed nobody for a year ahead of that game. Even with all that, I have Liverpool supporting mates who felt they got lucky, both with the pen and Kane lacking match sharpness. It was key to the game.

I agree, but what degenerates in this case? Nothing found, and I’m not taking Rudigers word for it. Damage done, we don’t need to sign him just cos he’s on a free, to save Baldy and his mates a few quid.

The crowd didn’t have mics on them? I’m not sure why there’s such a need to find excuses for his actions, I’m going with him thinking he heard something, which wasn’t ever enough to slur our fans with. He behaved like a dick.

Neither were you, but he made the accusation and despite exhaustive investigations nothing could be found in the most monitored state of the art stadium on the planet. Maybe he thought he heard it, either way there was nothing to suggest his accusations were right.

The cameras can track every fan, and they use lip readers to catch people… But people can cover their mouths with clothes or arms or face masks… And monkey noises can easily be made without moving lips….. These degenerates get lifetime bans if caught, but its easy to get away with.

He will score wherever he goes. Hopefully not City… I don’t slag off Kane, just stating the facts.. He has it all to prove now he’s a big match player…… And no you are very wrong about Rudiger.. His actions were fully supported by Spurs, and they said in their statement that ‘because there was no evidence, it didn’t mean that it did not happen’.. We all know there is always a racist idiot in the crowd.. You’re very naive to accuse him of lying.. You weren’t there so you obviously don’t know.

Greavse and Hoddle teams played with two strikers… Kane has played all his career as a lone striker supported with wingers and cams like Son and Dele and Tintin. Different set ups.. They have top sports science these days, they know how not to overplay, they know how to rest and recover. Far better today than 30-60 years ago…. Greavsie recovered by having a drink… Finals are at the end of the season for everyone else too. Just looking for lightweight excuses on why he hasn’t turned up in a single final when needed. Our other best players play as much as Kane.

Indeed, we did boss them for long periods, but were so toothless in attack and fluffed chance after chance… Kane typically fluffed his lines and became more invisible as the game went on. Same as Tintin.

He still had his chances in that final and he fluffed his lines.. He was match fit for the two league cup finals. He was also fit against Italy…. Winners don’t need excuses brother.

Greaves and Hoddle both turned up in their finals. They did their jobs. Big match players turn up.. Hugo Lloris, French world cup winning cap. Best defence in the league with England firsts Walker and Rose. The world class partnership of Toby and Jan. The formidable Moussa Dembele anchoring. A prime Dele who was breaking records faster than Lampard Scholes Gerrard.. Sonny.. The snowflake Tintin who you thought was brilliant…You talk about context and call all these guys ‘mediocre’. I beg to differ. They helped Kane get to three finals for us and he went missing in every one. Greavsie scored first time of asking. Kane also went missing against Italy. He has also fallen apart when booed and jeered by the fans. Kane has had multiple opportunities to ‘win stuff’. The platform was there for him to shine. There are now big question marks over his mentality and ability to be a big match player, to turn up in a final.. He has it all to prove… I hope he does, and I hope he does in the Spurs shirt.

The Greaves and Hoddle teams had multiple strikers. Kane has had to carry the role on his own for many years and has been grossly overworked and overplayed.
Finals are always at the backend of the season when our players are fatigued. That is down to Levy being so tight he would never buy a decent second striker to take the pressure off Kane. Anywhere else he would have been rotated. This seasons’s conference league has proven what a joke it is when we rotate under Levy’s player budget.

I didn’t think it was shameful, watch the whole game again.

Sissoko decided to hold his arm out in the penalty area, waiting for someone to kick the ball at it resulting in a pen to Liverpool inside 5 mins. Why some people ignore that absolutely shameful moment, and lump everything on an unfit Kane is beyond me. Selective memory loss?

Then we went on to boss the game but couldn’t get past their brand new £200m goalie and centre-back. Then the strength of Liverpool’s bench paid with a fresh Origi scoring late.

Neither team had played for a couple of weeks and both clearly a bit rusty. We were by the better side for most of the game but didn’t open them up enough to make it pay. Moura (‘the hero of Amsterdam’) also came on with much of the game left to play but didn’t do anything of note. “should’ve started mate”, on what basis after what he did off the bench?

But then look at our squad compared to theirs, we made no signings for over a year and they’d spent about 250m that season and missed out on the title by a single point. Context is required to make a rational judgement, sadly lacking here…

Ok, if he comes to the Premiership and scores more and assists more than Kane has then then fair enough, he’s got a lot to live up to. If the boy goes to City he’ll be playing in a better side than we have at Spurs too.

You slag off the best forward we’ve had in years, and turn blind eye to Rudiger’s disgusting racism allegations against our fans which was proven to be lies. Just so tight boll*cks upstairs might scoop him up on free. Up to you, but there can’t be many fans that would do the same.

SM causes so many problems for defenders as does Traore, because they have the freedom to play their natural game, that would create a lot more goal opportunities, which we do not have now.
I get your point about consistency but we have nobody who can operate and produce enough chances per game, Moura should but hasn’t and Ndom simply can’t cope.

Have you ever heard of context?

Greaves and Hoddle played in great Spurs sides when they won stuff. If either of those two had played during Levy’s time, neither would have won anything either. Unless you’re a fantasist that believes that one great player can transform a mediocre team.

Kane is one of the greatest forwards we’ve ever had, he’s just unfortunate to be playing under the Bald assassin…

The greatest players we’ve ever had all turned up in finals won and trophies.. Greavse and Hoddle and co turned up in their finals. Kane has had four attempts and failed to score a single goal in each and every one. He’s a wonderful player, but fails to turn up when needed, much like Tintin was for us, hopefully Conte can get through to him… Limerick Al called Tintin a flat track bully which was spot on, unfortunatelythis is Kane too…. Brilliant against San Marino and Albania,, not so brilliant against Liverpool and Italy in a final..

If Schevchenko went to the Chavs when he was 21 or soon after then it would have been a different story, he was like a lot of strikers, world class for 6 years then tailed off. He was great for Dynamo and Milan. Poor for Chelsea and his loans and return to Ukraine he was poor. Think Owen, Torres, Robinho…. Vlahovic is already looking world class. Kane wasn’t half as good at that age… Also the boo boys and all the jeering and Fiorentina hasn’t phased the lad at all. He still bangs the goals in. He either thrives on pressure, or it doesn’t affect him at all. This suggests he will be a big match player.. He has the mentality of a winner.. Unlike Kane who has crumbled when he was jeered, has bottled finals and gone missing.. Vlahovic is the complete striker like Kane, very similar but with added pace.

Maybe Kane will be the #10 until he figure how to play with another striker. Do not forget the ratio of goals score outside of PL are close to about 40% down. Recent goals scorers coming to the league. Bruno and Locelso, VinnicusJr. Those goals are not available in the PL. The period of adjustment is real. Do not hammer Spurs because you can without the facts. It is very tough for any player to come and have the same presence. Goal keepers are more adoptable than any other position. Those are facts. I would not over pay for him in January. Timo is just beginning to give Chelsea something on their dollar. A few years ago we were chasing this Cenk guy and now he can’t even get on the pitch. Mancity is not going to buy him in January, but I would be worried about Newcastle and what ambition players have in taking their money with the likelihood they will be going down.

I would suggest he is too inconsistent, very much like Traore.

We need a proper playmaker and Levy will not spend the money to buy one.

For as long as he stays with us that will probably be Harry’s job.

Anyone slating Kane needs their head examined. He has carried the team for years and is one of the greatest players we’ve ever had. Levy has consistently failed the playing side of the business and looking at the dross we have signed under him it’s difficult to advocate for anything other than sacking the useless khant.

Yes very good point, we don’t have a playmaker. I am of the opinion that Harry Kane is spending more time dropping in to link midfield and attack, and sacrificing himself for the team.

This wouldn’t be the case without Daniel and his atrocious transfer dealings…
