Report: Tottenham is expected to trigger the option for Dejan Kulusevski this summer

Dejan Kulusevski has hit the ground running since joining Tottenham Hotspur during the January transfer window; the 21-year-old has made 12 appearances, scoring two goals and recording five assists. As a result, the north London club is ready to keep the Sweden international.

The Daily Mail reports that Spurs are expected to trigger their option to sign Kulusevski at the first opportunity this summer. Tottenham has two transfer windows to buy the winger following the 18-month, £8million loan deal with Juventus.

Spurs have an option to sign Kulusevski permanently for £25-million at the end of this season. However, should the north London club decide to wait until next January to trigger the option, it would be an extra £5-million.

If Tottenham were to wait, they would be obliged to sign him for £30-million if he plays in at least 50 percent of Spurs’ Premier League matches for a minimum of 45 minutes next season, and they clinch a spot in the top four for the Champions League.
