Tottenham Hotspur wants to add some scoring depth for next season to go behind their two forwards, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. The north London club is connected to various players to fill this need on the squad, and the latest is Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham is also mulling a deal to bring the 28-year-old striker back to England. The Spanish outlet doesn’t further detail the interest Spurs might have in landing the 29-year-old.
Nonetheless, Tottenham likely wants a forward that’s okay sliding behind Kane and Son, so perhaps going after a player that is content with playing second string and being part of a project that’s led by Antonio Conte, who’s keen on winning silverware for the Premier League side.
While on loan to Juventus this past season, Morata scored 12 goals while recording nine assists in 48 appearances. When it comes to a transfer fee, Transfermarkt puts the Spain international’s value at £23-million.
