Report: Tottenham Hotspur hopes to land Atletico Madrid striker this summer

Tottenham Hotspur was in the market for a striker to either compliment Harry Kane if he remained with the north London-based club or replace the 28-year-old if he departed.

Nonetheless, no move for a striker occurred this summer, but Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici plans to address the position in 2022 reportedly. According to Calciomercato, One of the targets for the Italian club chief is to pursue a player that he’s familiar with in Atlético Madrid’s Álvaro Morata.

The 28-year-old is on loan to Juventus FC and has a €35-million option that they can activate to keep the Spain international. Morata has made seven appearances for the Serie A side and has scored three goals.

It will be interesting to see whether the Italian club decides to keep him or Tottenham attempts to acquire the player and have him return to the Premier League. Morata spent three years with Chelsea FC, making 72 appearances while scoring 24 goals and registering six assists.
