Report – Tottenham have opened talks with midfielder, this one is getting closer

Tottenham’s move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is getting closer after a new report from Football Insider reveals that the Lilywhites have opened talks over his summer transfer from Saint Mary’s.

The Dane has emerged as one of Tottenham’s main summer targets as they prepare to add some quality players to their team in the summer.

The Lilywhites won’t have too much money to spend when the transfer window reopens, but that won’t stop them from strengthening their team as Mourinho looks to add some quality to his ranks and win a trophy with the club.

Hojbjerg has already been stripped of the Southampton’s captain armband (BBC) and the club is likely to cash in on him this summer.

This is because they will lose him for nothing after next season since the midfielder has made it clear that he will not be signing a new contract with them.

Hojbjerg is one of the most coveted midfielders in the Premier League, and it is understandable that he wants to join a top team.

Spurs would likely provide him with the opportunity to play in the Champions League again, even if that is not possible next season.

Despite stripping him of the captain’s armband, he has remained an important player at the club and he has played 30 Premier League games for them this season.

All the signs are that this one is going to happen and it has to be said that Hojbjerg is definitely a Mourinho type of player.
