Report – Tottenham getting serious about landing long term Serie A target

Tottenham have made a contract offer to Arkadiusz Milik as they step up their chase for a striker in this transfer window.

Landing a backup alternative to Harry Kane is one of the club’s top transfer priorities.

They have missed out on some of their targets already but Jose Mourinho remains confident that he will get a new striker.

It seems that the Portuguese manager will finally get one as Football Insider reports that Tottenham is advancing in their bid to land Milik.

The report claims that the Lilywhites have offered him a five-year worth deal worth £23m in total and a signing on fee of £5m.

He has entered the final year of his current deal at Napoli, yet the Italians remain adamant that they want as much as £30m for his signature.

The report adds that Spurs might wait and sign him on a pre-contract in the January transfer window rather than pay that much money for him now.

Spurs will need to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes. After they fired blanks in their first Premier League game of the season against Everton, they will feel that they need another striker now more than ever.

Milik scored 14 goals in 35 games for the Italians last season.
