Tottenham are reportedly interested in the Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
According to a report from Football London, Tottenham are eyeing up a number of defenders ahead of the summer transfer window and the 22-year-old Crystal Palace defender happens to be a target.
The report claims that Tottenham are big admirers of the talented young Ivory Coast defender and it will be interesting to see if they come forward with a concrete offer for the player in the coming months.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to improve their defensive options and Guehi could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition.
Antonio Conte needs to find a quality partner for Cristian Romero and the Crystal Palace defender certainly fits the profile.
Guehi can play as a left-sided centre-back as well as a right-sided centre-back. Apart from his defensive qualities, he is an accomplished passer from the back as well.
Furthermore, the defender is well-settled in the Premier League and he wouldn’t need a lot of time to adapt. He could make an immediate impact at Tottenham next season.
However, the 22-year-old has a long-term contract with Crystal Palace until the summer of 2026 and the Eagles are likely to demand a premium for his services. Palace are under no pressure to cash in on the player and Tottenham will have to pay over the odds in order to convince the Londoners.
