Report: Tottenham among the Premier League clubs eyeing Brighton’s £45M defender

Despite already adding Ivan Perišić last week to help improve their left wing-back position, Tottenham Hotspur wants to add depth, considering the Croatia international is 33-years-old and Spurs might eye a younger player to challenge for the role.

According to Goal, the north London club is one of three Premier League clubs interested in Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Marc Cucurella. The 23-year-old had an impressive 2021-22 season, so top clubs are targeting the defender.

Joining Spurs are Chelsea and Manchester City, who are also circling the Spain international to help improve their backline this summer.

Regarding Tottenham, Goal states that their interest in Cucurella is due to manager Antonio Conte admiring glances in his direction due to his ability to slot in at left-back and center-half.

When it comes to the possible cost for the player under contract until 2026, a deal won’t come cheap, which is why they suggest Brighton will demand around £45-million from any sale.
