Report: Tottenham among Premier League clubs interested in Georginio Wijnaldum

The summer transfer window is fast approaching, and Tottenham Hotspur hopes to bring players to help build manager Antonio Conte’s vision for the north London-based club.

One of the weak areas that the Italian tactician hopes to address is the midfield group. Sky Sports recently reported that Paris Saint-Germain’s Georginio Wijnaldum is open to a loan move back to the Premier League.

90mins reports that one of the clubs open to landing the former Liverpool FC man is Tottenham. In addition, a handful of other clubs interested in bringing in the 31-year-old along with Spurs; Everton, Newcastle, Arsenal, Leicester City, and Aston Villa would be open to the idea.

The Netherlands international has struggled to adjust to Ligue 1 and PSG, so it seems as though Wijnaldum wants to return to a league he’s familiar with to gain confidence ahead of the FIFA World Cup next year.

It’s hard to imagine Tottenham going after Wijnaldum as it seems they want to go with young players to fill their weak areas. However, a loan deal might entice Spurs if their first options are too expensive.

Poch wanted him and Mane before they went to Liverpool. No chance with Levy around…

Hopefully Sissoko was just the start.Interestingly, the little I’ve seen of him in a Watford shirt he’s not looked so bad.

I will flip your cards a bit – You could also say that we sell Winks, Alli and Doherty this summer, but ended up selling Sissoko instead 🙂

Alli and N’Belly are going nowhere but younger. I would swap either or both for him. Wastrils

Salah even! Although Sarah is probably lovely as well.

They would be mad to not appreciate Sarah. Don’t see anyone better in the world than him at the current time.

A definite upgrade on the primadonnas we currently have in the squad, who are being paid hundreds of thousands of pounds. Would take him in a heartbeat even if we got 12 months out of him

He’s a good player. He left the Scouse to get more minutes to also play for Holland (he said). So PSG wasn’t the wisest move for him.. He was abused online alot here, and after the Scouse let his contract run down he also said he felt unappreciated.. Now Salah is entering a similar situation with his contract.

Six or seven years too late. Would have been a great signing.
