Tottenham Hotspur wants to offload midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, but they have yet to find a taker that can afford to pay the 25-year-old his high wages. Recently there were reports of AS Roma and Napoli expressing interest in the France international.
However, L’Equipe reports that Ndombele’s future isn’t in Italy. The French publication states that the Spurs midfielder is not particularly excited about the Napoli project, while Roma will have difficulty aligning themselves with his salary conditions.
Furthermore, L’Équipe hints that his future could ultimately lie in Spain, where FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid appreciate Ndombele. Ndombele needs a fresh start somewhere else, and Tottenham has to begin the process of rebuilding their midfield.
The north London club will not get what they paid for in 2019. So at this point, they’ll have to cut their losses and get the most of what they can for a midfielder that has failed to live up to the transfer price Spurs paid for him.
He’s not interested? What, you mean like his interest in football, in general?
