Report: “still in the conversation” Tottenham’s links with towering Englishman won’t go away

By Saikat -

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one of the clubs keeping tabs on him.

The 6’5″ central defender is in the final year of his contract at the London club and it makes sense for Fulham to cash in on him this summer instead of losing him for free next year.

Apparently, clubs from France are keen on signing the 25-year-old and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can swoop in and secure his services.

As per Dean Jones, Davinson Sanchez is expected to move on this summer and Adarabioyo could come in as his replacement.

He wrote on Give Me Sport: “The next central defender signing continues to raise interest and they are still in the conversation to sign Tosin Adababiayo this week.

“I think part of this not happening yet is the knock-on effect they need to happen from an exit for £40m Davinson Sanchez. He is being set-up for a transfer to France with Rennes most hotly tipped but also some interest from Monaco—and that’s also the same club most interested in 6 ft 5 tall Tosin.”

The 25-year-old Premier League defender has shown his quality during his time at Fulham and he should prove to be a superb acquisition for Tottenham as well.

Spurs need to add more quality and depth to their defence before the summer transfer window closes. They have already signed Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips to improve their defensive unit.

While van de Ven is an automatic starter for them, Phillips will need more time to adapt to the Premier League and the youngster is unlikely to be a key starter for Tottenham.

They should look to bring in another experienced central defender and Adarabioyo certainly fits the profile.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs can get rid of their fringe players and bring in the right reinforcements before the summer transfer window closes.
