Report: Spurs ‘can soon begin’ talks to sign attacking midfielder; Reguilon could go the other way

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham Hotspur may soon begin talks with Atalanta about a deal for Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Malinovskyi has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham since the past few days, with reports claiming that Antonio Conte’s men are looking to sign the midfielder on loan with an option to buy.

Tottenham’s interest in the Ukraine international was also confirmed by Fabrizio Romano who also claimed that Marseille are interested in the attacking midfielder as well and are set to make an offer for him.

According to the report by TuttoMercatoWeb, Malinovskyi is on his way out of Bergamo because his relationship with Gian Pero Gasperini has soured. It also says that Spurs’ interest in the midfielder should be “carefully monitored,” and the Premier League club “can soon begin” talks with the player.

The publication adds that Tottenham could start talks by offering Sergio Reguilon to Atalanta as part of a deal to sign Malinovskyi.

The midfielder has 43 goal contributions in his last three league seasons, serving as a consistent source of attacking output for Atalanta – while also being capped by Ukraine on 49 occasions and scoring seven goals.

He might be a cheaper option compared to the likes of Maddison and Zaniolo but it would make much more sense for Spurs to go all out and sign Maddison who is not only Premier League proven, but has been consistently performing, and has started this season on fine form as well, with 2 goals and 1 assist in 3 games.
