Report: Spurs advised to target where Liverpool have been proven ‘to be vulnerable’

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham have been advised to take advantage of Liverpool’s vulnerability in the early stages of the game when they face off this weekend.

According to journalist Matthew Dunn of the Daily Express, Spurs need to make a strong start to the match to exploit this weakness.

Liverpool have not conceded a single goal in the second half of games this season, scoring 15 goals in the process.

However, they have conceded the first goal in five matches and have managed to come from behind to win on each occasion.

Dunn’s report highlights that Tottenham had a tendency to start slowly under former manager Antonio Conte, but Ange Postecoglou is working to address this issue.

Since Postecoglou’s arrival, Tottenham have not gone a game without scoring and has shown more attacking intent from the outset.

The report further notes that both teams have displayed a trend of being stronger in the second half of matches this season.

Liverpool have scored 7 goals in the final 10 minutes so far while Spurs too made showed strong mentality to make a late comeback against Sheffield United, scoring twice in stoppage time to turn the game around.

Similarly, they responded immediately to Arsenal’s goals both times during the North London Derby last week.

Keeping this in mind, one thing is for sure. There are going to be a goals in the game and the outcome may well be decided in the latter stages of the game

Given the quality of players on both sides and their attacking styles, the match is expected to be highly entertaining.
