Report: Southampton warns Tottenham that their £29-million star isn’t for sale

The midfield is an area that Tottenham Hotspur wants to continue to improve this summer despite the recent addition of Rodrigo Bentancur and the pending arrival of Pape Matar Sarr from FC Metz.

However, Southampton wants to ensure that their Premier League rivals that their midfielder isn’t available. According to the Daily Mail, James Ward-Prowse is on Spurs’ radar, but The Saints have no intention of selling the 27-year-old, who’s under contract until 2026.

Despite Southampton having no plans to sell their captain, the report states that it won’t stop from Premier League clubs approaching to land Ward-Prowse this summer.

The Saints are in a no-pressure situation with Ward-Prowse under contract for five more seasons to sell the midfielder. However, with his stock at an all-time high and interest from the top six clubs, it will be interesting if he decides to push for a move.

When it comes to a possible price, Transfermarkt puts his transfer value at £29-million. The midfielder has made 38 appearances while scoring ten goals and recording seven assists.
