The January transfer window is open, and Tottenham Hotspur will look to improve their squad. Manager Antonio Conte wants to strengthen its midfield, and they have a target in mind he hopes the north London club can land.
Reports suggest Tottenham has their eyes on AC Milan’s Franck Kessié, but it seems their proposal to land the 25-year-old this month was rejected. According to SportMediaset (via Daily Mail), the Serie A side has turned down a swap deal involving Tanguy Ndombele.
Furthermore, Milan would prefer to hold onto the Ivory Coast international until the end of the season despite running the risk of losing him for free in June when his contract expires.
The report details that Ndombele’s £8-million-a-year salary is too rich for the Italian club. In their contract talks with Kessié, Milan offers a deal that would see him earn £5-million-a-year deal, but the midfielder wants £6.7-million.
With Milan not wanting to go over £5-million-a-year, it explains why they have rejected the possibility of taking on Ndombele’s contract.
I can’t understand why any club would want to take this (albeit very talented) waster on. He’s clearly got mental issues, perhaps they’ve got a club shrink?! 🤔
