Report: Serie A club interested in loan deal for Japhet Tanganga

Tottenham Hotspur is using the January transfer window to improve the squad and offload players who have no future. One of the players that could be departing is defender Japhet Tanganga.

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan reached out to the agents of Tanganga 15 days ago over a possible loan. However, Tottenham made it clear they will only sell the player outright for €25-million, so Milan might want to revisit the defender since they’re looking for a loan.

Milan wants to pursue a central defender and has eyed a few targets in Lille OSC’s Sven Botman and Paris Saint-Germain’s Abdou Diallo. Hence, the Italian club has a list of players they observe to fill the center-back role.

Tanganga has made 15 appearances this season for Tottenham, and the 22-year-old is averaging 66 minutes per game in Premier League competitions. He’s started eight of nine games for Spurs in the domestic league, two of three in the EFL Cup, and one of two in the FA Cup.
