Report: Roma keen on fending off Tottenham, Juventus for their £30M target

AS Roma’s Nicolò Zaniolo can fill a couple of needs on the Tottenham Hotspur squad as the 22-year-old is connected to the north London club for a possible summer move.

Spurs are hoping to add talent to the attack that helps lift some of the responsibilities on the shoulders of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. However, Calciomercato reports that Roma is keen on convincing Zaniolo to stay even though he’s under contract until 2024.

Roma is in the UEFA Conference League final and, under Jose Mourinho, will hope to sell them on their 2022-23 season. Whether that’s enough or not to keep him remains to be seen.

Zaniolo has made 39 appearances this season for the Roma side and has scored seven goals and recorded eight assists. As a result, clubs like Juventus are also interested in the forward who has bounced back from a couple of knee injuries.

When it comes to a cost, Transfermarkt puts his transfer value at £30-million. It will be interesting to see if Spurs can finish in the top four and perhaps convince the Roma man to jump ship and play in UEFA Champions League football.
