According to Football Insider, the injury to Micky van de Ven has forced Ange Postecoglou to consider his options and it will be interesting to see who they end up with. Tottenham are now keen on signing a quality central defender during the summer transfer window as their priority.
They also wanted to sign a defender in the summer, but they failed to complete a deal for their top targets.
Tottenham currently have three reliable central defenders at their disposal and signing another quality player could complete their defensive unit for the foreseeable future. They are well-stocked in the fullback areas.

Cristian Romero is currently starting in the central defensive unit alongside Radu Dragusin in the absence of the Dutch international defender. Tottenham have had to use Ben Davies as a makeshift central defender at times as well.
They need to sign a specialist central defender in January, and they certainly have the finances to improve that area of the squad.
