Report: Real Madrid considering buying back Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon

Tottenham Hotspur could be losing their left-back this coming summer. When Sergio Reguilon arrived in the summer of 2020 in north London for £32-million and signed his five-year contract, it appeared as though the Premier League sie had found their left-back for the foreseeable future.

However, Spurs could lose Reguilon this summer as ABC Deportes (via Sky Sports) reports that Real Madrid is considering a buyback for Reguilon.

When the La Liga side decided to part ways with the defender, Los Blancos had Marcelo and Ferland Mendy occupying the position.

Nonetheless, with Marcelo’s contract expiring in June, Real Madrid could be looking to bring back their former player to compete with Mendy for the left-back position.

There are no further details if there’s a buyback clause in the original deal or if Real Madrid plans to make a proposal of their own to bring back Reguilon to the Spanish capital.

Reguilon has made 58 appearances for Tottenham scoring one goal and registering nine assists.
