Report – Man United handed a boost in their pursuit of Kane

By Bruce Grove -

Manchester United has been given some encouragement in their bid to sign Harry Kane in the summer.

The Red Devils have a long-standing interest in the Tottenham striker and this summer might be his last on the books of Spurs.

Kane has been loyal to the Lilywhites despite attracting the attention of Europe’s biggest teams.

His performances for them deserve trophies, but as Spurs struggle in this campaign, it seems that staying in north London will not help him meet his ambitions.

The striker has reached the final of the Carabao Cup but Spurs struggle in the league means they might not finish this campaign inside the top four.

Football Insider reports that Kane is set to leave Spurs at the end of this season and he is interested in a move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are big fans of his and they have plans to make their move for him if the opportunity arises.

The report says while Kane hasn’t and probably wouldn’t publicly ask for a move away from Spurs he is interested in leaving them at the end of this season.

Spurs don’t want to sell to a Premier League rival, but the biggest European teams may struggle to pay Daniel Levy’s asking price, which plays to the advantage of United.

That said, only yesterday the Sun reported that Tottenham will not do business with United following their disgraceful behaviour towards Son Heung-min at the weekend.

This really is going to be a saga.

I can’t see where you made this point. If your point is that they compete through rich owners you are also making my point. We cannot compete with Man City and nor can anyone else. Consequently the only way to do so is to have the best stadium and use it for multi purposes. An extra 20 or so major events plus the daily hiring of the facilities gives Tottenham a chance.

Also why are we assuming the revenue would be used for the team. This is a property investment firm.

True on the example but my point was it’s not about the stadium. They compete through rich owners. We are in generational debt that will screw us for years.

Simply not true anymore. No one can compete with Man City from TV money alone. You either need a multi multi billionaire who will spend or something that is going to generate more income than all your rivals. That’s the opportunity the stadium gives Tottenham. The corporate hospitality, huge capacity and multi entertainment events can make the difference. TV money alone doesn’t allow everyone to compete. If it did how come City are winning virtually every trophy every year?

Liverpool. Their match day revenues would be on a par with WHL given the prices we charge. TV money allows everyone to compete more than the stadium revenue.

World class stadium with a fair-to-middling team. This transfer window will be interesting beyond Kane. Can’t see Son signing a new deal and can’t see any real quality wanting to join. Hence we will be linked with top players and get a letter like we did from Rivaldo who went elsewhere. Levy’s record never changes.

And we salute you for that but please understand when we are discussing the team and players we are not discussing the Stadium and the good work that have done I think no fan will have issue Spurs to have the best stadium in the world but what we are discussing is players and managers a football team to match that stadium and as I see it everybody in here have Spurs in their heart all of them want to see the team to be successful we may differ the ways to get there cheers.

Sitting outside the ground? Myself and my man (member of the British empire) links. All London grounds/youth set ups. Straight in. That’s not even the half of it. As I said “you don’t know nothing about me. Have a pleasant evening

It is ok to differ but like you said what you are basing on he will stay?I can agree he will stay on one condition if Mourinho stays and Levy backs him for real this time I think Kane will consider staying 1 season more, other than that I don’t see him why he will stay that is my opinion cheers.

You cannot compare to Gerard he won the Champions league with Liverpool the biggest trophy out there to win i can’t see Kane winning that here next 2 years when he will be 30 years old, I don’t know if you thinking like the old time he is one of our own and affiliation etc the modern football moved on from that with all due respect players go now the teams where they can have the money, trophies and good legacy ie big teams if you want to be big team then you have to act like one simple.

Did we not need the stadium? I’d argue that WHL wasn’t fit for purpose. If we didn’t need it we wouldn’t have sold out Wembley and the new Stadium as often as we did.

Also in order to compete for the things that every fan wants to see, you can’t have a 36k seater stadium. Give me an example of any club in a major european league that competes for trophies that doesn’t have a world class/large capacity stadium.

The other players you mentioned had no real affiliation to the club though.

I think Kane is more like Gerrard, it will hurt him to leave Spurs. I can’t see it, especially in this climate.

That Kane has no future to win anything in Spurs and time is running out and he will seriously think of his future and will come to conclusion he wants to leave and go where he will win tangible trophies like a lot of Spurs players done before him the likes of Berbatov Modric Bale Kyle Walker etc to mention some if that is not a fact I don’t know what is? and if one cannot see facts than the other side is delusion or emotional attachment of things.

I also think he will. I’m just curious as to what peoples thoughts are behind the main driver in him staying would be.

For me I just can’t see who can buy him and those who can would surely favour Haaland or Mbappe?

Tappa, do you think that’s because of his desire to stay or just lack of clubs with the money necessary to prise him away?

PSG already ruled out by French journalist Julien Laurens. Barcelona are haggling with Wijnaldum and Eric Garcia over weekly wages. Madrid needing to get Bale and others off their books and Bayern never making blockbuster £100m+ signings.

Same old tired diatribe. You come up with nonsense and think you are the only person ITK. You aren’t and that is clear as day. An ambitious player won’t want to work under this pathetic real estate investment firm. Tell me something insightful or crawl back under Levy’s high chair.
