Report: Italian club eyes Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn for a summer move

Steven Bergwijn has had his moments at Tottenham Hotspur since arriving at the north London club in 2020. However, the 24-year-old has failed to live up to the €30-million the Premier League side paid for two years ago.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are interested in Bergwijn for a move in the summer transfer window. The Netherlands international could be looking for a restart elsewhere following the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski.

Furthermore, the Serie A club could be looking to inject some youth into their attack, which relies on players like Zlatan Ibrahimović and Olivier Giroud. Bergwijn is versatile and can play either on the right, left-wing, or second striker, so he’s an attractive option for Milan.

The winger is under contract until 2025, and Transfermarkt puts his market value at £16-million, so Spurs could be working with a net loss as they attempt to recoup most of the initial fee.

Bergwijn has scored three goals and registered two assists in 19 appearances this season.
