Tottenham Hotspur eyes to improve their midfield as the only player they brought this summer was Pape Matar Sarr, who remained on loan to FC Metz. One player that Spurs eye is Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, whose contract expires this coming summer and played under Antonio Conte.

If Tottenham hopes to land the 29-year-old, they have some good news coming their way as Tuttomercatoweb reports that negotiations between the Serie A side and Brozovic’s representative aren’t heading in a positive direction.

According to the Italian media outlet, Brozovic’s father is asking for an annual salary around the neighborhood of the €6-million that Lautaro Martínez earns. Inter Milan has countered with a five-year deal that would see the midfielder make €4.5-million per season.

It seems as though the €1.5-million roadblock could be enough to see Brozovic leave if he and his representatives don’t lower their wage demands. With Tottenham monitoring the situation, this will be music to their ears as they could use someone that Conte is familiar with have a role in their midfield.
