Report: Frank Lampard believes he can help turn around the career of Dele Alli

Dele Alli leaves Tottenham Hotspur fizzling out and never regaining his past former under former manager Mauricio Pochettino. Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte could not help the 25-year-old rediscover his past form.

However, Everton manager Frank Lampard believes he can help the midfielder gain a new lease on his career with his move to Goodison Park.

The Athletic reports Lampard “loves Dele as a player,” thinking he is the right guy to carry the England international back to the benchmarks, which saw him twice win the PFA’s young player of the season award.

Everton constructed a deal with Tottenham, which presents them a reasonable chance to benefit from a revived Dele before paying anything.

“It helped that Lampard and Dele are represented by the same agency, CAA Base, and there is a feeling from some close to both that the former can become the relatable ‘mentor’ figure the player,” The Athletic wrote.

Spurs will receive an initial £10million fee once the midfielder has made 20 appearances, but with only 18 matches left in the Premier League season, The Toffees won’t need that fee until next season.

Furthermore, other performance-related add-ons could see the price reach at least £30-million with Alli signing a two-and-a-half-year contract.
