Report: Former Tottenham manager a top candidate to land Everton job

Nuno Espirito Santo didn’t last long at his post as the Tottenham Hotspur manager. The Portuguese tactician appeared to be in over his head, jumping from managing Wolverhampton Wanderers to managing the north London club.

Spurs decided to sack Santo in November following the terrible start to the 2021-22 season. A few months since his firing, his name is beginning to make the rumor mill as a possible option for a club looking to make a coaching change.

According to the Spanish media outlet AS, Everton has reached out to the former Tottenham boss over the possibility of replacing Rafa Benitez.

The Toffees sit in 16th place, six points away from the relegation zone, so if they tap Nuno, they hope he can keep them away from that position in the table.

However, Nuno isn’t the only manager that Everton is linked to as Roberto Martínez, Lampard, and Wayne Rooney are the other candidates to fill the position.

Everton would be a better job for Nuno despite the pressures of avoiding relegation as midtable clubs seems to be whether he shines best.
