Report: Former Spurs manager ready to make a push for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho wants to reunite with a former player of his during his stint in north London. The now AS Roma boss wants to bring Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Italy.

According to Il Messaggero (via The Boot Room), Mourinho is keen to land the 26-years-old from Spurs at the end of the season. He is ready to give up everything to bring Hojbjerg to the Italian capital.

Hojbjerg is under contract until 2025; Spurs don’t need to sell the midfielder if Roma doesn’t provide an offer they see reflects the value of the Denmark international.

When it comes to the possible asking price, Transfermarkt puts Hojbjerg’s price at £36-million. Since joining Tottenham in 2020, he’s appeared in 92 fixtures while scoring five goals and recording nine assists in his two seasons with the north London club.

The midfielder is a marquee player at the position for manager Antonio Conte, so it won’t be easy to see him leave this coming summer. However, if the Serie A club makes an offer Spurs can’t turn down, perhaps Hojbjerg could be heading to Italy.
