Report details how much Spurs will need to pay for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez

This summer, Tottenham Hotspur will likely be in the market for another striker that can aid Harry Kane with the goal-scoring responsibilities.

Furthermore, at Inter Milan, manager Antonio Conte had something similar with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez, so it comes as no surprise the Italian tactician wants to replicate that in north London.

One name that has recently become a reported target for Spurs is SL Benfica striker Darwin Nunez. If Tottenham wants to pursue the 22-year-old, The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that the Portuguese side is demanding a fee of around €70-million (£58.5-million).

Furthermore, Tottenham will have to go up against some big clubs to lure the Uruguayan international. Ornstein reports that Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are currently the front-runners to land the Benfica striker this summer.

Since arriving in 2020, Nunez has appeared in 80 fixtures for Benfica, scoring 45 goals and registering 15 assists for the Portuguese side, where he’s under contract until 2025.
