Report – Christian Eriksen played a significant role in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg transfer

Christian Eriksen may have left Tottenham after refusing to sign a new deal at the club, but the current Inter Milan midfielder has nothing but good thoughts to say about the north Londoners.

The former Ajax man spent six-and-half years at Tottenham before joining Antonio Conte’s team in the last transfer window.

His transfer left a major void in Spurs’ midfield and the Lilywhites have set about filling it up with the recent transfer of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Hojbjerg joined Spurs from Southampton after being a long-term target of Jose Mourinho.

After his signing was confirmed, Eriksen took to twitter to hail the capture of the former Bayern Munich man and he also admitted that he knows Spurs will treat him well.

The Athletic has now revealed that the midfielder played an even bigger role in Hojbjerg moving to Spurs.

It claims that the new signing asked Eriksen for advice about joining Spurs, and Eriksen gave a very positive response.

Tottenham faced significant competition from Everton, who reportedly had a bid for the midfielder accepted, but Eriksen’s advice may have helped him to choose Spurs.

Hojbjerg left Southampton because he wanted to play for a top team, Spurs will hope that he will help them improve next season.
