Report: Celtic in discussions with Tottenham over a permanent deal for loanee

Over the summer, Tottenham Hotspur loaned out Cameron Carter-Vickers to Scottish giants Celtic FC. However, despite having another six more months on the deal, it seems they want to secure a permanent agreement.

According to the Daily Recordmanager Ange Postecoglou wants the 24-year-old full-time in Glasgow. Furthermore, negotiations have started between the two parties over the center-back.

The option to buy on the loan deal is around £6-million and with significant add ons that could raise the fee. Nonetheless, the media outlet reports that there’s a dialogue between Celtic and Tottenham over the transfer sum in terms of the period it is paid up in and future add-ons.

Since arriving at Celtic, Carter-Vickers has started every match in the Scottish Premiership, UEFA Europa League, and League Cup. Furthermore, domestically, he’s averaging all 90 minutes for Celtic.

The American defender has two goals and one assist in 24 appearances for the Glasgow-based club. On the defensive side, he’s averaging 1.4 interceptions per game and 4.9 clearances per game.
