The January window is opening in a couple of weeks, and there will likely be some players departing during that month. One player that could leave is central defender Joe Rodon.
The former Swansea City defender has failed to secure a starting role on Spurs backline, and it doesn’t seem as though he’s part of the future. As a result, some Premier League clubs are circling the 24-year-old defender as a potential target.
According to The Times, Brighton & Hove Albion FC is the latest club expressing interest in Rodon. The Seagulls have an interest in Rodon due to their manager Graham Potter working with the defender at Swansea during the 2018-19 season.
Rodon will likely go out on loan to use these next six months to rebuild his stock, which Tottenham wants as they look to recoup a fee for a player that doesn’t seem to have a future in north London despite the Wales international being under contract until 2025.
IF a move is allowed to happen, I hope he goes to Brighton and work with Potter again, it’s the right move for him imo, I see Newcastle are also interested but I’m not sure that’s the right choice for him. Should he get an opportunity here I’m sure he’ll perform well enough to be considered as a first choice in the future but we’ll have to see.
With Davies, Emerson and Romero out he will play the next 3 games, let’s see what he’s got!
