Tottenham Hotspur has been one of the more active clubs in improving their squad for next season. With UEFA Champions football on the horizon and the ambition to win silverware, the north London side wants to add to their forward group, with one name being Leeds United’s Raphinha.
According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, the latest regarding the Brazil international is that Arsenal has already scheduled a meeting with Leeds United, who are asking for £65 million.
When it comes to where Spurs lie in this pursuit, Romano states that Tottenham and Chelsea are still in talks with Raphinha’s representatives, with the ‘race still open’ for any club to take the lead on the 25-year-old. £65 million for a player that struggles to hit double figures in England’s top-flight might not be viewed as a priority for Daniel Levy.
Barcelona is the only club outside the Premier League eyeing the Leeds United star, who has already agreed to personal teams with the forward but has yet to agree on a fee with the English club.
Raphinha appeared in 36 fixtures for Leeds United last season, scoring 11 goals and recording three assists to help them stay in the Premier League and avoid relegation.
