Pundit says Tottenham star’s future could be over if Conte signs 25-yr-old

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

The 25-year-old has done well in the Premier League this season, and he has been a key player for Argentina in the World Cup.

The South American giants have managed to reach the finals of the World Cup and Mac Allister will be hoping to help his country win the coveted trophy later this week.

It is no secret that Tottenham need to add more creativity and depth to their midfield and the Brighton star could prove to be a quality acquisition for them.

However, Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell has now warned that the 25-year-old midfielder’s arrival could spell the end of Yves Bissouma’s Tottenham career.

Campbell said to Football Insider: “He’s a really good player.

“There was a lot of talk about him before the World Cup anyway, but you can see what an impact he’s had on this Argentina midfield.

“He’s good on the ball, he’s smart, he’s a worker.

“But them signing another midfielder will make life very difficult for Yves Bissouma.

“He’s not getting into this side, and they’ve spent £25million on him. If Mac Allister comes in, then it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Bissouma.”

The 26-year-old Mali defensive midfielder joined Tottenham at the start of the season, but he has not been able to hold down a regular starting berth.

The arrival of Mac Allister will only push him further down the pecking order and Bissouma could be forced to leave the London club in search of regular game time.

The 26-year-old was one of the best defensive midfielders in the league during his time at Brighton, but he has not been able to convince Conte to hand him regular game time so far.

It will be interesting to see if the 26-year-old can turn things around during the second half of the season and secure ample game time with his new club.
