Pundit says Spurs reliance on hotshot is sad

Tottenham is top of the Premier League table and they are also in good shape in other competitions.

It has been a long time since they have won a trophy and their fans are desperate for the wait to end soon.

Their fine start to this campaign makes that a possibility, and their results have been helped by the form of their players.

Two men that stand out for the team are Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, with both players scoring a majority of the Tottenham goals.

Son, in particular, has been a standout performer for the club this season.

Noel Whelan has enjoyed watching the South Korean play for Tottenham, but he says that Jose Mourinho is being forced to rely on him.

He claims that the Portuguese manager would like to rest him, but he is being forced to play him because other players are not reliable and that is sad.

“You’ve got Son who’s leading the line, who is that one player out there that he can’t do without,” Whelan told Football Insider.

“I’m pretty sure that he would love to put him on the bench but I’m not sure that he trusts his players enough to do that. That’s pretty much what he said in his press conference.

“That’s sad, that’s so sad for the rest of the players have been given an opportunity.”
