Pundit questions Mourinho’s style as he looks to win trophies

Jose Mourinho has got Tottenham fans dreaming of their team winning a title for the first time in nearly 60 years.

Under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs looked like a team that could win several trophies, but they didn’t win any.

The club has made the right decision to replace the Argentinean with Mourinho, who is a serial winner.

The Portuguese manager has won trophies at every team that he has managed and Spurs look set to become the next team that he will lead to silverware.

Mourinho, however, doesn’t care so much about the type of football that his team plays, as long as it gets them results.

Spurs have been known to play some of the best-attacking football and Stan Collymore believes that Mourinho must win trophies, else he might do some damage at Spurs when he leaves.

“Tottenham’s victory over Manchester City on Saturday was a counter-attacking masterclass,” the Former Liverpool striker wrote in his Daily Mirror column via HITC.

“But Jose Mourinho’s methods must bring trophies because, if they don’t, he will lose players who want to play expressive, expansive football.

“And fans, when they return, won’t want to watch a perfectly capable attacking team sitting deep for long periods. Don’t get me wrong, I hear those Spurs supporters who want trophies and don’t mind how they get them.

“I just fear there will be damage done down the line when Mourinho goes.”
