Pundit explains why Tottenham can go into Anfield and get a win over Liverpool

By Eddie Razo -

The race for the top four continues to be heated, and this week Tottenham Hotspur will be traveling to Anfield, where they’ll take on a Liverpool squad who wants to maintain their position as they fight for the Premier League title.

However, Spurs could take advantage of Liverpool, possibly still in that celebration mode of having reached another UEFA Champions League final. Meanwhile, Tottenham is coming off a win over Leicester City.

Furthermore, the north London club did get a victory on the road against Manchester City, which is why Ian Wright believes that Spurs can get a win over Liverpool.

“I think that Tottenham game for Liverpool looks a tricky one,” he said on the “Kelly and Wrighty Show” (via Liverpool Echo). “You don’t know what Tottenham are going to turn up. If any team can cause them problems, then it could be a Tottenham. I said ‘Tottenham are very well equipped to beat Man City’, and they beat them.”

“They’re very well equipped because they’ve got the front men and they have defensive [solidity], especially when they’ve got the five [at the back] away from home where they can frustrate you, but they can also hurt you up the other end.”

Tottenham needs a win to stay on par with Arsenal as both clubs are on a collision course to have their May 12th be the deciding factor as to who comes away with the top four finish this season. Manager Antonio Conte will need to get his squad prepared for

Away to Liverpool was always a game where I could relax because I expected to get beaten. One time 7 zilch, another time 2 up at HT, only to loose 3 – 2.of course we won there a couple of times. In 50 attempts. We know what to expect, let’s be honest.

AFC will drop points ..v Newcastle and Leeds ..much as admire the optimism I cannot see Spurs beating Liverpool..and the Burnley game worries me in terms of how physical they will be.
NLD we will win that.

I disagree. Losing to Liverpool won’t be much different to drawing with them. We still need the goons to drop points elsewhere but we have superior goal difference. Oh and we play the goons at home.

No, I won’t gloat. There’s no point in that. I’m not sure how you remain an optimist after the shambles against Brentford, but I reckon it’s none of my business

Love the optimism. Are you going to come back after your predicted results and gloat how right you are. I be here if I don’t get blocked for asking a simple question.

yes we do , but losing at Anfield will end the dream , a point gives us the chance to go to Emirates with “it all on the line “, I think both results are possible for us

If we draw with pool and beat the goons we’d still need them to drop points elsewhere….wouldn’t we?

The first goal at Anfield is immense – a real tone-setter . They are currently the best team in the world , hard to argue that .
They are beatable , but it must be remembered they dont have to be .
We can do this with a draw and a NLD win , would love to win and we are mercurial .
I just want the NLD to arrive and our boys to “find a way ” , any reult at Liverpool is acceptable , meet those Gooners for “the straightener” and the glory after the match . And yeah , Burnley or Norwich can spoil the party – we’re Tottenham and we live with that – until we make that breakthrough ????? C o y s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose Liverpool to beat Tottenham doesn’t make for much of a headline.

We should have beaten them at the baldy stadium tbh. Klopp will be a trifle worried with our counter-attacking ability and the pace of Son allied to Kane knowing exactly where he is without looking.
Not sure about the solidity of our defence though!

Would be typical Spurs, but if we win you just know we’ll draw against Burnley and lose to Norwich
