Pundit details why Spurs is a more attractive destination than Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur is having an excellent start to their summer transfer window with already three new additions for their squad heading into the 2022-23 season. Spurs have added Fraser Forster, Ivan Perišić, and Yves Bissouma thus far, and they won’t be stopping there.

The north London club is currently linked to wing-backs, central defenders, and forwards to further improve their squad. During a segment on talkSPORT, pundit Jamie O’Hara shared his belief that Tottenham is now a more significant pull for new signings than Manchester United.

“Because we got fourth place, because we’ve got Antonio Conte as a manager and because we’ve got Son and Kane and world-class players, players now look at it and would rather sign for Tottenham than Man United,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT.

“You would. The facilities are great; you’re in London, so why would you sign for Manchester United right now? You’d rather sign for Tottenham.”

With manager Antonio Conte at the helm and club chief Fabio Paratici as the architect, Spurs have a project with two credible people who have a history of winning trophies leading the charge.

Conte showed this past season what he could do with a limited Tottenham squad, and with the right recruits, he can help the club be a contender with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City domestically next season.

As a result, O’Hara stated that there’s similarities between Conte and Jurgen Klopp when he began his tenure at Liverpool.

“I don’t want to jump the gun, but it feels like we’re doing what Jurgen Klopp did at Liverpool when he first came in,” O’Hara said. “He rebuilt the team slowly, and then over the next two or three years, this side could be unbelievable and challenge for something.”
