Pundit believes Tottenham may be running out of patience with 26-year-old

Darren Ambrose has admitted that he is no longer convinced that Richarlison will succeed at Tottenham Hotspur.

He insists that the Brazilian cannot continue to miss the chances that he is missing.

The 26-year-old has been struggling since joining Tottenham from Everton in a big money move.

He only scored one goal in the Premier League last season and while many thought that he would return to his best under Ange Postecoglou, he unfortunately has continued to struggle.

His club form has also seemed to have an effect on his performances for Brazil.

He was taken off at half-time during Brazil’s 2-0 defeat against Uruguay yesterday.

And Ambrose admits that Richarlison can’t keep getting away with missing chances.

He told TalkSport:

“He didn’t play a lot last season. And this season, Ange has started with him. You can see Ange trying to back him and say, ‘look he’s trying to get in the positions, he’ll come good’. I don’t know anymore.”

“I backed him and I’ve said ‘he’ll score goals because he does get the chance, when he stops getting the chances that’s when you’ve got to worry’. He can’t keep getting the chances and keep missing, because there comes a point – and it has happened – that you get dragged or you don’t play anymore.”

Tottenham fans might be getting frustrated with Richarlison. However, the lack of options upfront fot Spurs means the Brazilian has the chance to get back to his best.

Tottenham have not yet replaced Harry Kane who left the club to join Bayern Munich in the summer.

They are being linked with a move for a striker in January, with Ivan Toney one of the names linked with the club.
