Pundit believes Tottenham Hotspur midfielder won’t depart during the January window

The January transfer window opens in a couple of days, and it will allow for Tottenham Hotspur to offload some players who have no future with the club in the Antonio Conte era.

One player that some believe will be departing next month is midfielder Dele Alli. However, pundit Michael Dawson stated on Sky Sports (via HITC) that he believes that Alli won’t be leaving north London.

“I can see why Newcastle want to sign him. Is he going to improve them? Of course, he is,” Dawson said. “But now he is going to get an opportunity. We saw him come on against West Ham in the Cup.”

“I am sure Antonio Conte is probably thinking, ‘No, we are working with him. We can’t let him go’.”

Alli has seen his name connected with a couple of Premier League clubs in Newcastle United and West Ham United. It will be interesting to see if Alli decides to stick it out until manager Antonio Conte or seeks a more prominent role with another club.

2022 is a World Cup year, and perhaps coming off the bench or not playing consistently for 90 minutes might not be enough for Alli, who hopes to impress and earn a spot on the England national team for Qatar later in the year.

If Dele thinks he can earn a spot on the the England squad for the Qatar World Cup as you suggest Eddie I think he’s in for some disappointment.

The promise of his display against Liverpool was extinguished by his tepid display yesterday. Contributed nothing, looked like he couldn’t be bothered. I lost count of the number of times he conceded possession. Don’t want to see him in a Spurs shirt again

I’m sorry Michael but hopefully you are wrong here.If only Dele had the same whole-hearted attitude to playing as Dawson did. He’s finished as far as I am concerned and I think he knows it.How many opportunities does he need?
