Conor Gallagher’s future at Chelsea has been the subject of speculation, with Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs reportedly interested in the midfielder.
However, it seems that Gallagher is heavily invested in retaining his spot at Chelsea and is committed to establishing himself at the club.
According to the report from The Guardian, ‘there are doubts’ over his future at Chelsea and that Tottenham ‘have held talks over a move’ for him with the Blues already.
Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham’s manager, is reportedly attracted to Gallagher’s energy and goal-scoring threat, as he aims to build a team that plays free-flowing attacking football next season.
Transfer Insider Dean Jones has now claimed that Spurs target Gallagher is heavily invested in retaining his spot at Chelsea.
He told GiveMeSport:
“Conor Gallagher does not want to leave Chelsea so interest from Spurs, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Everton and Newcastle is all leading nowhere at this moment in time.
“This is a lad totally committed to establishing himself at the Bridge and while he will of course be open-minded further down the road if his path is totally backed, he’ll probably be in the starting line-up at the beginning of the season because there are no other options.
“Everton have been in touch over this one for the longest time and tried to sell themselves as a great platform for him to use to build his profile and standing in the game, and he would be pretty sure of game time week-after-week in their starting eleven.
“I don’t think Everton will totally let go of that hope until the window is closed but from Gallagher’s point of view, it’s not ideal. He would leave London for the right opportunity but is that it?”
Gallagher’s loan spell at Crystal Palace in the 2021/2022 season was highly successful, showcasing his talent with eight goals and five assists in 39 appearances.
He continued to impress even during Chelsea’s challenging campaign last season.
As Chelsea plans its rebuild under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, Gallagher’s future at the club remains uncertain.
However, the young midfielder seems intent on proving his worth and securing a spot in the starting lineup at Stamford Bridge.
