Premier League side set to steal Tottenham transfer target Nikola Milenkovic

Tottenham Hotspur is on the verge of completing the transfer for Cristian Romero, who’s on his way to London to finalize the transfer to Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad. Despite landing the central defender, the Premier League side wants to continue fixing its backline this summer.

However, the London-based club could be crossing off another defender off its target list. The Daily Express reports that West Ham United are now the front-runners to sign Fiorentina center-back Nikola Milenkovic.

The move for the 23-year-old materialized after The Hammers held discussions with Chelsea FC over Kurt Zouma last week, but the Blues told West Ham they must increase their offer of £20-million if they wished to land the France international.

Instead of raising their offer, West Ham is looking elsewhere. They’ve also had serious interest in Milenkovic and have been since the January transfer window. However, Fiorentina is more open to selling the Serbian international while he is still of value as the defender enters the last year of his contract.
