Premier League rivals offer 29-year-old to Tottenham in a swap deal

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Hakim Ziyech.

As per the Telegraph, Chelsea have made an enquiry to sign Yves Bissouma this month and they are looking to send Ziyech in the opposite direction. However, the report claims that Spurs are not interested in the deal.

The 26-year-old Malian international joined Spurs at the start of the season and he has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at his new club. Bissouma has started just eight league games for his new club and he is yet to start for them in the Champions League.

He would have hoped for more game time when he agreed to join Spurs in the summer. It remains to be seen whether Antonio Conte is prepared give him more opportunities during the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are in need of midfield reinforcements and they were probably hoping to take advantage of Bissouma’s struggles at Spurs and snap him up this month. The Blues could soon lose Jorginho and N’Golo Kante on free transfers and they need to bring in replacements.

Despite his struggles at Spurs, Bissouma is a quality player who has proven himself in the Premier League with Brighton. Conte must look to hold on to him and allow him to regain his peak form.

As for Ziyech, he has had similar issues at Chelsea and the Moroccan has started just three league games for the Blues. He needs to leave in order to play more often and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
