Potential Key Figure Luis Campos Has Already Been Approached

Luis Campos is believed to be the missing piece in Jose Mourinho’s ideal new Tottenham regime.

Mourinho has already raided Lille for assistant manager Joao Sacremento and goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos, but Director of Football Campos is the real prize that Spurs want, as The Telegraph reported in December.

Campos has developed a reputation for being the best talent spotter in world football, having helped Monaco sign and then gain huge profits on the likes of Fabinho, Kylian Mbappe and Bernardo Silva.

He has also worked his magic at Lille, fooling Arsenal into spending big money on Nicholas Pepe, while Boubakary Soumare and Victor Osimhen are now viewed as hot property.

Although he didn’t name his suitors, Campos has revealed to Mais Football of Portugal that he has been approached others clubs, but added that leaving Lille was not a foregone conclusion.

“I don’t have a crazy obsession with going to England and leaving this project, which is very special and which I have a great amount of responsibility,” he told Mais Football.

“There have been approaches from other teams…but things are going well and it’d be difficult for me to leave Lille.”
