Postecoglou open to letting Tottenham playmaker go for a right fee

Bryan Gil’s journey at Tottenham Hotspur has been a mixed bag since joining from Sevilla in 2021.

The talented attacker arrived with high expectations, but under previous manager Antonio Conte, he was not given sufficient opportunities to prove himself, leading to a lack of impact at the club.

In January 2023, Gil was loaned back to Sevilla, where he showcased his abilities with two goals and two assists in 15 league appearances.

His performances impressed Sevilla, and they are now looking for a left-sided attacker, with Gil being one of their identified options as reported by ABC de Sevilla.

However, they are aware that Tottenham will demand a significant fee for the Spaniard instead of a loan move. The North London club are reportedly not interested in loaning him out again.

The arrival of new signing Manor Solomon has further pushed Gil down the pecking order at Tottenham, increasing the likelihood of a potential departure.

Italian side Lazio has expressed interest in the 22-year-old winger, but they will have to pay a fee of around €30 million, as per reports.

Despite the transfer speculation, Gil himself has previously expressed a desire to stay at Tottenham and fight for a spot in the team this summer.

Speaking to Spanish outlet AS, he emphasised that he has a contract with the club and wants a calm summer after experiencing uncertainty in previous years. However, ultimately, the final decision rests with Tottenham’s management.

Whether Levy loans him out for another year or sells him on a permanent deal remains to be seen but he is no short of suitors in the event that the club decides to let him go.
