According to Daily Express, Tottenham failed to sign any of the three players that manager Ange Postecoglou had recommended to them.
Tottenham had a fairly decent transfer window as they made a number of signings to help rebuild the squad under Ange.
Among those who were brought in include James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Alejo Veliz, Ashley Phillips, and deadline day signing Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.
They also got rid of several players who were excess to requirements for the manager. Joe Rodon and Djed Spence joined Leeds on loan while Tanganga and Sergio Reguilon completed deadline day loan moves to Augsburg and Manchester United respectively.
They reportedly wanted to move Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez as well but failed to agree any deals for them.
Despite Spurs bolstering their defense with Micky van de Ven and young centre-back Ashley Phillips, the report from Football London, via Daily Express, has revealed that the club failed to bring in any of the three preferred defenders that Ange Postecoglou had recommended to them.
The report claims that The Australian identified his back four as a weakness at the start of the summer and had apparently given the club three names: Perr Schuurs, Gleison Bremer and Tosin Adarabioyo. These were identified by Ange and chief scout Leonardo Gabbanini
It adds however that the manager remains happy with the transfer business.
The new signings are starting to all gel together for Ange. They beat Burnley 5-2 earlier today with some big performances from the likes of James Maddison, Manor Solomon, and Heung-min Son.
They are yet to be beaten in the Premier League so far having drawn 1 and won 3 back to back games.
