Postecoglou confirms ‘there’ll still be some activity’ in terms of Tottenham signings

By Saikat -

Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Tottenham could make a few more moves before the end of the transfer window.

Tottenham started off the transfer window with great intent. They first extended Timo Werner’s stay at the club and went on to add Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray to their squad. While they did slow things down in terms of transfers, Spurs recently completed the signing of Dominic Solanke. They forked out a club-record £65 million to prise him away from Bournemouth.

After the end of Tottenham’s friendly match against Bayern Munich on Saturday, their manager Ange Postecoglou was asked whether signing the former Liverpool ace has had a big effect on their transfer budget. The Australian jokingly said to Football London: “You know our budget do you mate?”

He further added: “Look, we’ll see, there’s still time in the window and I think there’ll still be some activity.”

The former Celtic boss was quick to mention the fact that there is still enough time in the transfer window and he believes that Spurs could still make some moves in the coming weeks. With Emerson Royal’s departure almost certain, they could look for a new right-back. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has already left the club and with Giovani Lo Celso’s future uncertain, they could look to bring in an experienced midfielder.

While Solanke’s arrival surely adds more firepower to their attack, Postecoglou still seems keen on adding more depth to the flanks and they have been linked with quite a few top wingers. As a result, Spurs could be quite busy in the final weeks. Apart from the arrivals, there could be a few big-name departures as well.
