Popular pundit feels Tottenham starter is ‘not good enough’ to play for the club

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has faced severe criticism for his performances this season.

The Brazilian international was expected to step up and fill the void left by Harry Kane this season but it has clearly not worked out for him so far.

The 26-year-old has not been able to live up to the expectations since his big-money move from Everton last summer and his performance against Luton Town was quite poor.

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara has now revealed that the Brazilian is simply not good enough to play for the north London club. Richarlison has never been a prolific goalscorer throughout his Premier League career but his overall footballing ability makes him a useful option to have.

“Richarlison’s not good enough. I’ve come to the conclusion he’s just not good enough,” he told talkSPORT.

“And you see the chances that he missed today and it’s lucky we had someone who can put it in the back of the net. But what he did was he brought pressure on Spurs. He brought pressure when really we could have put the game to bed in the first 10 minutes.”

However, the player is clearly lacking in sharpness and confidence right now and he has been a liability for his side.

Tottenham need to bring in attackers in the coming months and it remains to be seen whether they decide to replace Richarlison when the transfer window opens in January.

The Brazilian is clearly struggling right now and he is going through a rough patch. Perhaps taking him out of the limelight and letting him regain his confidence on the training field would be a good idea.

There is no doubt that the 26-year-old can be a key player for Tottenham in the coming seasons but he is clearly looking like a shadow of his former self right now and it would be wise to take him out of the firing line.
